Advanced manufacturing technologies are a key driver of competitiveness in many industries, which contributes to keeping skills and jobs in central Europe. The AMiCE project will tackle three major challenges faced by SMEs when adopting advanced manufacturing technologies: access to knowledge; promotion of investments; and competitiveness of these projects. AMiCE will promote advanced manufacturing technologies especially focusing on 3D printing.
The rise of 3D printing and fragmentation of required knowledge across the area demand transnational cooperation that will allow replication of best practices in different sites. The project will connect five innovation hubs that prioritise advanced manufacturing in their regional strategies. A tandem of partners including a business support institution and a leading university represents each innovation hub. AMiCE will also develop a knowledge platform, a network of shared demonstrators and pilot lines highlighting proven benefits of 3D print to new end-users. It will also set up a training and advisory programme to support the development of concepts and projects conceived by SMEs.

1. Developing solutions for the transfer of knowledge about AM technologies
2. Setting on the facilitations of SME investments in AM technologies
3. Developing and implementing of new training tools, which base on a common strategy for the improvement of the innovation services in the field of AM technologies
work package 1
The WP will deliver 2 correlating outputs:
1. Manufacturing innovation 4.0 support strategy and a coresponding action plan to be developed and implemented by the project
2. Knowledge sharepoint with tailored information on technology opportunities and innovation needs
work package 2
Within the WP a concept of network wil be developed how the existing demonstrators and pilot lines can be opened and shared with companies and research partners. The concept will be implemented in a pilot action taking 11 cases by testing and evaluating the developed approach. Actors from facilitators will be trained to operate and develop the network.
work package 3
AMiCE will identify 500 potential project cases, from which for 50 individual support and coaching plans will be developed and implemented. Further 11 teams will be invited to an innovator camp, where the teams will be trained to develop the competitive project and proposals. For that purpose an international project platform will be developed.
Project AMiCE has 10 partners from central European countries and 1 associated partner
