The EC white paper for Transport, adopted in 2011, underlines that Urban Areas are responsible for about a quarter of CO2 emissions from transport, and 69% of road accidents occur in cities.
Europe has clear and challenging goals to ensure sustainability of transport in urban areas: halve the use of ‘conventionally-fuelled’ cars in urban transport by 2030; phase them out in cities by 2050; chieve essentially CO2-free city logistics in major urban centers by 2030.
The SOLEZ project will contribute to achieve these ambitious results!
Vicenza is organizing the 1st public event to present to its citizens the sustainable urban mobility strategies included in SOLEZ Action Plan, together with a target sessions specifically addressed to public authorities and mobility experts ...
SOLEZ Action Plans are transport planning documents covering short-medium timeframe and vision, identifying a set of low-carbon mobility actions and measures connected with traffic regulation and access restriction schemes in a Functional Urban Area (including LEZ, LTZ, etc.), ...
A follow-up training workshop after the study visit in Turin was organized on 12th December in Gdansk -Gdynia-Sopot Metropolitan Area premises with its employees as well the City Hall and Gdansk’s Roads and Greenery employees as participants.
The Solez project brings together cities which endeavour to implement measures to support low emission zones or other low-carbon mobility policies. The project activities will lead to:
10 partners from 7 different countries share the will to protect key city areas from traffic through the use of Low Emissions Zones and similar measures.
Each partner represents a Functional Urban Area (FUA) which is comprised of one core city and municipalities in its hinterlands.
The project consortium includes both experienced cites in low carbon mobility, technical experts and cities that have some unique experience in low-carbon mobility or policy of Low Emission zones.
