The third call for proposals was launched at the anniversary conference in Berlin on 21 September and will stay open until 25 January 2018. Around 60 million EUR are available for new, transnational cooperation ideas.

With our call we address public and private organisations that want to work together with central European partners on shared challenges in their cities and regions. We seek transnational project ideas that help to improve capacities for urban and regional development in our four key priority areas:

Thematic focus

Following the first two calls in 2015 and 2016, 85 funded projects are already addressing a wide range of shared challenges across central Europe and helping the programme to reach specific objectives set for its funding.

Based on an analysis of topics covered by the running projects, the programme monitoring committee decided in their meeting in Vienna on 21 and 22 June to better target the third call for proposals in some thematic areas.

Five specific objectives will be fully open to cooperation ideas, four specific objectives will be focused on exclusive topics and one will remain closed. More information is available in the third call application package and for quick reference in the overview table.

One-step procedure and minimum requirements

The third call is organised in a one-step procedure. Fully developed project proposals have to be submitted via our web-based tool, the electronic Monitoring System (eMS).
Transnational partnerships can be formed by both public and private organisations. The minimum requirement for a project partnership is the participation of 3 financing partners from at least 3 countries. The typical project duration is around 36 months. The co-financing rates reach up to 85 percent depending on the geographical location of an institution.
A complete application package including the application manual for the third call is available in the application documents section
