Ljubljana, 22 May 2019
Dear representative of SMEs, policy makers and other institutions,
3 years ago, we decided to offer something more to food and agricultural SMEs.
We knew that our SMEs are producing quality and especially tasty foods, but we also knew that they are facing different challenges in the area of mechatronics, food design, food safety and labelling.
This is why 5 regional partners and 4 knowledge partners, coordinated by Technology park of Pomurje, joined to launch the I-CON project.
During these years, we tried to help as many SMEs as possible either with knowledge transfer and by sharing and using different tools, as well as with concrete solutions from mechatronics, design, food safety and labelling. Together with SMEs in different countries, we prove that even despite their smallness, SMEs should easily say “I-CAN” to any challenge that comes in their way.
As I-CON project is coming to the end, we kindly invite all of you to participate to our
I-CON Final Conference
to present and discuss about project activities and achievements.
The conference will take place on 22 May 2019 in Ljubjana, at Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia (Dimiceva 13, Ljubljana).

The Eurasian lynx is a highly endangered species, protected under national laws and the EU Habitat Directive. The main threats for lynx survival are illegal killing, happening due to lack of acceptance by key stakeholders and habitat fragmentation hindering migration. In addition, non-harmonised (national) monitoring and management hamper a coordinated approach. The challenge is to integrate lynx monitoring, conservation and management into a common strategy on transnational level.

Symposium on innovative financing schemes for energy efficient public buildings
Save the date!
Top-level speakers will introduce their practical experiences, lessons learned and provide recommendations for public authorities on how to make best use of alternative financing instruments.
Using innovative financing schemes for up-grading the energy efficiency of public buildings can be one key activity to fulfill the goals of the European Energy Perfomance of Buildings Directive on a municipal level. Alternative financing approaches such as public private partnerships, energy performance contracting and crowdfunding as well as the ELENA-initiative from the European Investment bank provide new instruments to transform public buildings to nearly zero energy buildings and reduce the strain on public budget.

PLANNING FOR TRANSITION
This year's AESOP* Annual Congress invites scholars and practitioners to present and discuss case studies of cities and projects that have engaged in meeting challenging situations – supporting transitions in urban contexts. Specifically, it is aimed at offering an understanding of the forms of knowledge, concepts, tools, and skills needed to plan and address transition in times of rapid climate and societal changes. Furthermore, it seeks to explore whether (and how) managing such changes has brought any overall reconsideration of the city design model and towards more general institutional reconfigurations.
MaGICLandscapes will be presented by representatives of project partner Città Metropolitana di Torino in the special session "Planning and Designing Green Infrastructures."
